About this job
Shelves fail when the fixing doesn't match the wall or the load. We ask what the shelf will hold (books are far heavier than ornaments), choose fixings accordingly, and use a level and template so runs of shelves line up perfectly. Floating shelves on stud walls get fixings into studs or proper toggles rated for the weight — not the fittings that come in the box.
